If you prefer, you can handle simpler tasks yourself, such as packing and unpacking your belongings – we’ll take care of everything else.

How our home moving service works with us

1. Assessment visit and quote

The more details we have about your move, the more precise our quote will be. We recommend starting with a detailed quote request or moving survey. For larger relocations, we'll conduct an in-home assessment to provide an accurate quote.

2. Written order confirmation via email

After booking our moving service, you'll receive a written confirmation by email. This confirmation outlines all included services and details the moving plan. We do this to ensure complete clarity and peace of mind from the very beginning.

3. Packing items and furniture protection

You can rent our high-quality moving boxes, which we'll deliver in advance for your self-packing convenience. Our moving service always includes furniture and home surface protection on moving day. If you prefer, you can also order protective materials in advance to prepare your furniture yourself.

4. Moving to your new home

Our professional movers will carefully load your furniture and belongings and transport them to your new address according to plan. At your new home, we'll protect surfaces before bringing anything inside. We also offer storage solutions if needed during your move.

5. Move-out cleaning (additional service)

In the Helsinki area, you can also add professional moving cleaning to your moving services. Our thorough cleaning service can cover all surfaces, windows, and ensures the entire premises are left in good condition after you move out.

6. Moving box collection

You can keep your rented boxes as long as needed after your move. Box rental fees are based on the quantity and rental duration. Please schedule the box pickup with us at least 2 working days before your preferred collection date.

How do I protect large furniture pieces like sofas and beds?

Victor Ek’s moving service always includes complimentary furniture protection on moving day. If you prefer, you can also order materials in advance to protect your furniture yourself.

How many moving boxes do I need?

We recommend you have 1 moving box per square meter. For example, if you are moving out of an 80 square meter apartment, we recommend 80 moving boxes for you. In addition, we can deliver specialized boxes, such as hanging boxes for clothes and boxes for artwork.

How long can I keep the moving boxes?

You can keep the boxes you rent for yourself after the move for as long as you need them. The rental price of the boxes is based on the number of days and the number of boxes rented. However, you should arrange to collect the boxes with us 2 working days before the desired collection date.

What is the price of a home moving service?

The cost of our home moving service depends on the volume of items, packing materials needed, and the scope of services required. If you want our team to handle the packing, we charge an hourly rate based on crew size. For full-service moves where we handle everything from packing to transport, we can offer flat-rate pricing.

How long will my move take?

Durations of moves are very case-specific and various factors affect the durations. For example, if you are moving into a 4th floor apartment and there is no elevator, or the moving truck cannot park in front of your main door, the carrying of your movables will naturally take longer.

Can Victor Ek help with furniture and appliance installation?

Yes, we can assist with furniture assembly, lamp installation, and connecting appliances like washing machines. Please mention your installation needs when booking so our moving team can bring the appropriate tools.

The renovation in my new apartment will be prolonged and I need warehousing for my movables before the move itself. How can I store my movables?

We offer convenient storage services alongside our moving services. Our secure warehouse is located in Oulunkylä, Helsinki. Storage fees are calculated based on the volume of items and duration of storage needed.
